A cone with a single large opening at the apex and spiral ribs running up the inside. The ribs hold the paper away from the wall so air can escape as the bed drains, and because the opening is wide, brew time is set by how fast you pour rather than by the dripper itself. That is what makes the V60 a brewer you can steer.
The walls are clear, so you can watch the bed rise and settle through each pour. Useful when you are learning a recipe, and a fair reason to pick this one over an opaque dripper.
Takes V60 02 papers. Rinse the paper before you brew: set it in the dripper, pour hot water through until it is fully wet, then pour that water away. This rinses out the papery taste and preheats the dripper and the vessel underneath at the same time.
