Named for the incredible views from the entrance to the farm, Fazenda Mirante ("lookout" or "viewpoint in English) produces incredibly sweet and vibrant natural processed coffees.

This natural processed Red Bourbon lot was grown at Fazenda Mirante, one of the highest in elevation between all of the farms operated by José Maria Oliveira and Our Coffees.

The farm is located at a point where the Atlantic Forest converges precisely with the Cerrado Mineiro, a coffee producing area in the west of the renowned Minas Gerais region. The combination of both biomes presents an ideal combination of precipitation and acidity to allow for ideal coffee production. Across this farm and others in the area, regional micro-climates allows each coffee to consistently showcase its uniqueness and versatility. 

We selected this coffee for its diverse expression of the flavours that can be produced in Brazilian coffee, including citrus, stonefruit and nuts.

The relationship between Jose and his team at Our Coffees is key to the success of their coffees across their farm. To Jose, his team is an extension of his family; he’s a strong believer in higher wages and providing a brighter future to his workers and their families.

The core foundation of Our Coffees is being able to provide wages that will deliver a higher quality of life, while providing the opportunity to put their kids through college. Both José's daughter, Nathalia and his son-in law Ronaldo follow in the family tradition of coffee production, with the hope that it will continue for more generations. 

The coffees produced at Fazenda Gabriela are both certified by the Rainforest Alliance and UTZ, guaranteeing sustainable practices and social and economic benefits to the region of Cerrado Mineiro. This is our second year selecting a lot from Fazenda Mirante, but our 6th year buying from the Oliveira family.
